About Shelter Net

Shelter Net is a project that offers IT training to sheltered housing residents living in Lambeth.  The project was set up in 2002 as a pilot, Lambeth Council had cabled 2 sheltered housing schemes with PC’s with internet connection.  After successful training in these sites PC’s where put in to the remainder of Lambeth sites which totaled to 27 sites.  The training programme was rolled out to all of these sites.  In 2004 we received 3 yrs funding from Bridge House trust to expand the provision to Registered Social Landlord, set up dedicated web page to the sites and also a newsletter.

Adult Learners Week

Adult Learner’s week was held in May 2006. This event gives us the opportunity to invite residents from sheltered schemes who have completed training to come along  to our centre and receive a certificate of  achievement.  This event is always well turned out from residents and staff from all over lambeth which marks as an social able event as well as recognition for the trainees new found skills.
