The Lambeth Community Research Network (LCRN) recently held two inspiring training sessions, bringing together voluntary and community organisations and academics to explore various topics relating to community research. Attendees walked away with a deeper understanding, greater confidence, and practical tools to start on their own community-led research projects.
LCRN was created to make sure that research in Lambeth is ethical, high-quality, and driven by the voices and priorities of local people. As part of its commitment to accessible and impactful research, LCRN runs regular training sessions on a wide range of topics.
So far, sessions have included ‘Getting started with a community research project’ and ‘Methods in community research’. Both sessions were met with high engagement, 87% of attendees said they gained a better understanding of the subject matter, along with practical skills they can use in real-world settings.
‘The practical aspect was eye opening. I never thought research could be done in such ways.’
‘I found the workshop thought provoking and particularly fascinating to share ideas with other attendees.’
Beyond learning, the sessions also created space for connection, bringing together people from across the borough to share ideas, spark new collaborations, and build a growing network of community researchers.
The next LCRN training session, ‘Working with peer researchers’ is happening on 23rd September. Register here.
