Africology

Africology is the study of African phenomena and it looks at the impact of African history on the world. During this two day session we will be looking in particular at the “African Satellite Kingdoms of The Mediterranean,  gaining an insight into the Garamantes and Pelasgian occupation and peopling of Greece, Italy and Anatolia and in particular at the impact on later inherited classical cultures of those civilizations.

This training will run on Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm to 9pm on the 10th and 11th of February  via group sessions on ZOOM. All participants will get access to teaching online resources for the duration of the course and the opportunity of 1:1 sessions. This course is funded by Lambeth Adult Learning and open to all London residents aged 19 +.

In line with new government guidelines and COVID 19 regulations, this course will be delivered online via Zoom. Key resources will be accessible via any digital device including smart phone, tablet and PC/laptop. Full support including 1:1s with your tutor will be provided.

Explore the issues facing people of African descent in Britain and the Diaspora. 

Analyse information about the legacies of the concept of race.

Gain knowledge of the great accomplishments of Africans in the Diaspora, leading to greater self-esteem, confidence and knowledge of self.
