This course runs on Tuesday 9.30am – 3pm from 6th January to 31th March at High Trees Hub. Upon successful completion, you will gain the NCFE Functional Skills Qualification Level 1 in English. By the end of this course, you will be able to demonstrate the ability, at an appropriate level, to read, write speak, listen and communicate in English and you will also be able to apply this knowledge and these skills within specific situations.

At the end of this course, you will able to:

Take part in discussions/exchanges about familiar topics, make active contributions, with one or more people in familiar situations
Read and understand straightforward texts that explain, inform or recount information
Write short texts with some awareness of the intended audience
Spell familiar and unfamiliar words
Use a wider range of vocabulary and structure your sentences
