Family Cooking & Healthy Eating is a fun, hands-on course for parents/carers and their children, where they learn about healthy meals, and build confidence in the kitchen. Each session will focus on preparing simple, budget-friendly recipes while exploring the basics of nutrition, food safety, and balanced eating. You will work as a team, taste your creations, and discover new ways to make healthy food enjoyable for the whole family. The course also encourages family bonding, improves cooking skills, and promotes lifelong healthy habits.
This course runs on Wednesdays 1.15pm – 3.15pm from 21st January to 1st April at Jubilee Children Centre SW2 2JE.
What to expect:
- Prepare different healthy recipes using fresh ingredients
- Follow key kitchen safety and hygiene rules (e.g., hand washing, safe chopping) during all cooking sessions.
- Identify the main food groups and give at least one healthy example of each.
