High Trees are at an exciting juncture in our development and are looking for an experienced communications professional to work with us as we develop our work.
The Communications Manager will work with the Communications Officer, and across all our service areas, to allow us to expand our reach, communicate our offer to the local community and demonstrate our impact to our funders and other key stakeholders. As well as ensuring our day to day activities are publicised and reported upon, High Trees is significantly increasing its offer to the wider charity sector, producing a range of Toolkits, resources and guides for the sector and the Communication Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring these are produced to a high standard, clearly communicate our messages and reach the right audience. As we expand our work in this area and increasingly produce material (such as community based research) that is designed to share and influence, you will work with senior leadership to deliver upon our strategic objectives in this area, using your experience and expertise to ensure the highest quality materials have the most effective reach. High Trees also lead or play a key role in several partnerships, and carry out the Communications functions for Building Young Brixton (a partnership of 8 youth organisations located in and around central Brixton) and Lambeth Hubs (a partnership of 5 place based organisations located across Lambeth) and the Lambeth Peer Action Collective (A partnership of young people and youth organisations located across Lambeth).
You will be coordinating our communications across all our service areas – creating and editing content and working closely with the service teams to engage our different audiences. Your role will include ensuring the publication of new content is to the highest quality standard, updating and maintaining our website on WordPress, grow our social media reach and design engaging multimedia material highlighting our work. You will build relationships with each of our teams, assessing their needs and creating top-quality content for all our channels.
Working with the Communications Officer to design flyers, reports and other media, updating our website content using WordPress and updating social media. Your strengths will include an instinctive ability to modify tone and content for different audiences while keeping within the High Trees voice and our brand guidelines excellent attention to detail and the ability to proofread flawlessly. You will have at least 2 years’ experience (perhaps significantly more) working in communications, perhaps in the VCS sector. You will have experience maintaining websites, developing materials for print and online distribution, and creating a variety of written materials for different audiences.
