Parents, carers and children came together this summer to enjoy our free seven-week Mini Makers programme, designed to support creativity, wellbeing and connection through play.
Running from 8 August to 28 August, sessions took place every Wednesday and Friday morning and offered families the chance to take part in arts and crafts activities, sing-along nursery rhymes and sensory play in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Mini Makers was developed for parents and carers with children aged 3–5 years old, providing opportunities for families to spend quality time together, meet others with similar experiences and enjoy a space where they could feel relaxed, included and supported.
The programme welcomed all families, with priority given to L&Q residents, and aimed to engage families who may face additional barriers, including lone parents, refugee families, those receiving benefits and people who are unemployed or earning below the London Living Wage.
Programmes such as Mini Makers play an important role in helping parents build confidence, reduce isolation and develop supportive networks within their local community.
