Recently our Community Action team has been pleased to support The Winch and Southwark Council with Community Organising training.
We delivered practical training sessions for The Winch, sharing skills and helping participants to develop their confidence in group dynamics, decision-making, community engagement, and building a public narrative. By tailoring each session to the group’s specific needs, our team made sure the training was not only relevant but also highly impactful.
As a participant from The Winch put it, ‘The sessions weren’t just informative – they were engaging, thoughtful, and designed for long-term impact.’
Our team were also thrilled to deliver a Listening Skills for Community Organising course to the wonderful Community Gardening team at Southwark Council. Attendees came from a range of different backgrounds, from professionals working in the sector to members of Southwark’s gardening network. Together, we explored the power of relational listening, how to run effective listening campaigns, identify leaders, ask powerful questions, and reflect on practice.
“Really enjoyable and useful day – gave me more confidence and I feel more able to initiate community listening, which is much needed.”
We are delighted to share our own learning and approaches to Community Organising with voluntary and community organisations and look forward to supporting others in the future.
