Purpose
- To support the Family Engagement worker in the general running of a stay and play session
- To support children and their families to engage with play activities on offer
- To create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and families to play
Main Responsibilities
- To support in the preparation of the room and/or relevant activities at least 15 minutes before the families arrive for each session
- To support the Family Engagement Worker in the co-ordination and delivery of the sessions including outings/trips off-site/activities
- To facilitate playful engagement between children and families during the sessions
- To support the Family Engagement Worker with monitoring and evaluation
- To support the catering and administrative duties relating to the sessions, as appropriate
- To follow relevant High Trees policies and procedures for delivering services to children and young people
- To inform the Children Young People and Families Manager of any issues pertaining to the families taking part in the sessions
Commitment
- A minimum attendance of four hours during the sessions (plus 15 minutes prep time pre-session)
- Attendance for a minimum of three weeks
Skills required
- Reliable and punctual in attending the sessions
- Good social and communication skills
- Ability to interact positively with children and families
- Additional skills such as arts & crafts, cooking etc are very welcome
