Irma has been living in the UK for over 20 years, having moved here from Colombia.
Previously, she had not had time to take part in ESOL classes as she was working hard to support her family and she had never had the opportunity to attend school in Colombia. At the age of 71 she decided that is never too late to learn a new language and that learning English would give her independence and the ability to communicate.
