Celebrating a successful year of ESOL Classes

Aug 19, 2022 | News

This summer, over 50 learners from South America, Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia celebrated their success together at our ESOL Celebration Event themed “Flowers and colours”. Ten learners volunteered to come in early to help decorate and set up the hall. One former learner came to DJ with his audio equipment and one learner created the flyer. Learners opened the event and welcomed guests who heard about their experiences and successes this year:

‘I’m studying since last year at High Trees, I passed already two levels of English and one level of Maths. Now I have progressed to English Functional Skills E2 and Level 1 of Maths. I’ve improved my skills and I feel more confident to search for another job. It’s so great to have this knowledge to use in my daily life, in appointments, reading emails and answering them. So, thank you for the opportunity and I hope you all continue learning!

‘I’ve been learning English at High Trees for two years. I wanted to improve my English because I live in the U.K. so to speak English is very important for me. I love learning at High Trees because I have good teachers. May I take the opportunity to thank the teachers and staff.’

The event has been a success for all. Leaners enjoyed games, food and music and received praises and certificates from the High Trees team.

We look forward to expanding on our ESOL provision in September, delivering courses and conversation clubs from the newly refurbished High Trees building.
