The Lambeth Peer Action Collective (LPAC) has launched a new research project exploring how mental health services can better support young people affected by violence.
LPAC is a partnership of local young people and youth organisations (led by High Trees), working together to create better futures for young people in Lambeth through youth-led research and social action.
Funded by the Youth Endowment Fund, this new project builds on LPAC’s wider programme of youth-led research, giving young people an opportunity to explore issues that directly affect their lives and use their experiences to help shape conversations around support and services.
Over the coming weeks, the LPAC team will begin developing their research questions, exploring peer research approaches and planning how they will collect data. Their findings will aim to increase understanding of the experiences and needs of young people, while identifying opportunities to improve how mental health services respond to those affected by violence.
