Following the findings from its recent ‘Built on Trust’ research, the Lambeth Peer Action Collective (LPAC) has now launched a new social action campaign highlighting the youth spaces and services available to young people across Lambeth.
LPAC is a partnership of local young people and youth organisations, working together to create better futures for young people in Lambeth, through youth-led research and social action. This partnership is led by High Trees, and is made up of local youth organisations Juvenis, Spiral Skills, IRMO, MLCE and St Matthew’s Project.
The collective’s ‘Built on Trust’ research explored how safe spaces and trusted adults can act as important protective factors and help reduce young people’s exposure to violence in Lambeth.
Following this research, the LPAC team has chosen to raise awareness of the youth spaces that already exist across the borough through a social media campaign. The campaign features a series of short videos created by LPAC members, showcasing youth spaces and helping young people discover the support, activities and opportunities available in their local communities.
By creating and sharing this content themselves, LPAC members are turning their research findings into action, using their voices and creativity to help connect other young people with safe spaces and trusted sources of support. The campaign is an important next step in LPAC’s wider work to ensure that young people’s experiences and perspectives help shape conversations around violence, safety and wellbeing in Lambeth.
