Since January, Lambeth Hubs has supported more than 40 organisations across Lambeth, delivering over 100 hours of capacity building to help local organisations strengthen their skills, knowledge and ways of working.
Lambeth Hubs is a partnership of community anchor charities providing place-based provision in Lambeth, led by High Trees. The partnership has been commissioned by Lambeth Council to provide capacity building support across the borough.
Through one-to-one support, training workshops and expert advice, organisations have been able to access practical guidance across a wide range of areas, including volunteer management, organisational policies, managing community spaces, social media and impact measurement.
The support is helping local organisations build their capacity and develop the tools and knowledge they need to continue making a difference in their communities.
As one recipient noted, “Lambeth Hubs support ensures we are better protected as a grassroots organisation that does not have the capacity or resources to hire external professional expertise. This support is a gamechanger.”
The free training sessions have also helped organisations develop practical skills that they can take directly back into their work. 94% of participants agreed that they had developed new knowledge or skills through the training, while 83% felt confident applying the skills they had developed within their organisation.
With continued demand for practical support and capacity building across Lambeth’s voluntary and community sector, Lambeth Hubs is helping local organisations become more confident, resilient and equipped to support their communities.
