Weekly Job Club sessions boosting confidence and building community

From June, our weekly Job Club has been providing a crucial space for learners to come together and get additional support with finding fulfilling employment. Meeting every Wednesday, the Job Club sessions provide access to networking opportunities, support and guidance, for those who need it.

One learner described these sessions as “personal and progressive”. They spoke of how they felt “hopeless for a year and did not know who to turn to, so the Job Club was very important to me”, mentioning how High Trees came into their life at a very pivotal time when they were reaching out for help.

The Job Club not only provides opportunities for those seeking employment, it’s also a way to build up self-motivation, perseverance, and creates a sense community. It provides learners a way to exchange ideas and knowledge with others who may be at different stages of their own employment journeys.

Learners have shared how helpful it was to have a supportive space in which they could look for and apply to jobs that were relevant to them. They felt that they were able to come away with both new skills and more independence.
